Storage
It is best to keep your Crowntown Cannabis Topical Salve in its original container in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight. Keep the container tightly sealed between uses to avoid exposure to air for long periods. With proper storage, the CBD within this product will remain potent for at least a year.
What Is CBG?
Cannabigerol, also known as CBG, is one of over 100 cannabinoids found in the cannabis family of plants that include both hemp and marijuana. This cannabinoid is found to a lesser degree than either cannabidiol (CBD) or tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It is only found in approximately 1% of mature plants because, as the cannabis plant grows, the amount of CBG breaks down into THC and CBD. So the highest yield of CBG is found in the younger plants.
A lot has been learned about CBG in recent years, as so much attention has been paid to its sister cannabinoids, THC and CBD, in the past. However, this compound is reported to have an even more profound beneficial effect on the body than the more well-known cannabinoids. Scientists are excited about the possible extended wellness benefits of CBG, so more research is planned. However, anecdotal evidence suggests that the inclusion of this cannabinoid in your CBD product will produce a far more beneficial effect than just CBD alone.
What Does Full Spectrum Mean?
When hemp is processed using scientifically advanced methods such as are used in the production of our Crowntown Cannabis Topical Salve, the resulting extract contains the CBD cannabinoid and other cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, and THC. Also, the extract will contain other beneficial compounds like terpenes and flavonoids. When a product uses this all-encompassing extract from the hemp plant, it is labeled a full-spectrum product.
The importance of a full-spectrum product results from the combination of more than one cannabinoid mixed with the terpenes and flavonoids; this produces what is commonly known as “The Entourage Effect.” This effect means that this combination of elements will produce a far greater benefit to the user than an isolate alone
One other term you may notice in some product labeling is “broad-spectrum,” which means the hemp extract used in the product contains all of the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids a full-spectrum product. Still, an additional step has been taken to remove all traces of THC.
