5 Commonly Asked Questions About Our CBD Products

If you’re new to the CBD world or just have a few questions about what CBD can do for you, we are here to help! You’re not the only one asking these questions, as CBD is still a relatively new option for things like sleep, anxiety, pain and more. If you’re unsure of where to start on your CBD journey, let us shine some light on the basics. Here are 5 of the most commonly asked questions about our CBD products:

1. What Does CBD Stand For?

Many people don’t even know what CBD stands for when they begin taking the products. CBD is short for cannabidiol, a chemical in the cannabis sativa plant. There are over 80 cannabinoids within this plant that all work together to create the effects these products give. While Delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) can be found in cannabis, CBD is obtained from hemp, a form of the cannabis plant that only contains small amounts of THC.

2. How is CBD Different From Weed?

As previously stated, both CBD and THC are derived from the same plant; however CBD does not produce the same “high” effect that THC does. Both compounds affect your endocannabinoid system and interact with receptors in the brain. Once THC and CBD come into contact with those receptors, they can affect functions like sleep and mood. The main difference is that THC will create a feeling of euphoria, also known as “getting high,” while CBD does not.

3. Is CBD Legal?

Specifics regarding the legality of CBD vary depending on what state you’re in, but federally, small amounts of CBD are legal. The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 legalized the farming of industrial hemp, which contains less that 0.3% THC. If the hemp contains more than the stated amount, it can be considered marijuana, an illegal Schedule 1 drug.

4. Are There Different Types of CBD?

There are 3 main types of CBD, including full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and CBD isolate. The main difference between full and broad-spectrum is that full-spectrum contains small amounts of THC. In order to be federally approved, these products must contain the legal amount of THC (less than 0.3%). You will occasionally find CBD products with higher THC in states where marijuana is legal. Broad-spectrum does not contain any amount of THC and offers most of the same benefits a full-spectrum product would. CBD Isolate is the purest form of CBD and contains none of the other components from the cannabis plant.

5. Does CBD Show Up on a Drug Test?

In short, yes, there are some CBD products that can show up on a drug test. That being said, most drug tests do not screen for cannabinoid CBD, and since CBD is federally legal, many companies won’t test for it. The products that have a chance of showing up on tests are full-spectrum, so if you’re concerned, feel free to try broad-spectrum or CBD isolate products.
